Any type of pain can make your life a misery, as a back pain sufferer I have decided to put down my ideas and thoughts on how to relieve pain and suffering.

My back pain started as a result of a broken leg which the doctor explained was due to applying more pressure on my good leg. As I am due to have another operation on my leg in the next couple of months I am hoping and praying that this will help my back to recover.

The doctor prescribed Tramadol and a jel called Movelat as a pain relief, I don't know if the Movelat jel helps but I do use it. I have also tried Deep heat spray which I think is more effective and it does ease the pain for a while.

I am not too happy with the Tramadol as although it works it is an addictive pain relief so I only use them occasionally. The best pain relief in tablet form that I have found is Cocodomol but I only take one or two at night if I can't sleep due to the pain.

The absolutely best pain relief I have found which really helps is a product called Tens, it is a drug free digital pain reliever and costs £14.99 in a Lloyds chemist.

I was very sceptical about it  at first as it seemed too good to be true, but I made the decision to purchase it and try it out.  It doesn't look much, just a small plastic controller with wires and two small pads attached to it.

It has been a god send and I use it anytime when needed, even during the night if the pain is bad. The relief from pain  lasts a few hours and it can even be carried in your pocket for use while you are out.

Do you suffer from insect bites during the summer months ?  The irritation that these bites cause can drive you mad, but instead of spending pounds on expensive products just try these. Inexpensive and easy to get Vaseline, it works like a dream and gets rid of the irritation.  If you get dry skin on your legs or any parts of your body don't spend a fortune on creams when Vaseline will do the job just as well.

Another simple product that works almost instantly on insect bites is Boots Antiseptic cream it is also a handy product to have in your cupboard for other problems.

Indigestion.  Do you spend £4 or £5 on Gavascon  for your indigestion ?  Don't waste your money.  A cheaper alternative and just as good is Peptac Liquid, I swapped over and found no difference at all.

Diets.  Do you find dieting a problem because you love chocolate ? Then give this chocolate a try, I bought it just to see what it was like as it was half price and I found it delicious.  Sainsbury's sugar free chocolate, its in the aisle with their own make of chocolates and the price is the same as any large bar of chocolate. Its not bitter like the sugar free chocolate in the chemist, it tastes just the same as ordinary fattening chocolate.
