Organic Gardening Our New venture

Sunday, March 30th, 2008

Another month almost over, don’t forget April fools day on March 1st, think up some good joke now to get them going. The suns shining today but some clouds are coming over, it almost feels like spring is here.

My daughter and I are starting an organic vegetable plot as soon as the weather picks up, flowers are being dug up and we intend to have our own fresh organic Vegetables this year,

The seeds are planted in small disposable pots that will go straight into the ground, we have been potting them at regular two week intervals so we don’t have gluts all at once.

At the moment they are on a large decorating table in the bedroom but hopefully we will be able to buy a greenhouse soon and really get down to business.

While the sun is shining I intend to start the manure bin, we bought it from the council a bargain at £10.00 as it is a big one, It means the garden will also get tidied at the same time as there lots of cuttings to get rid of.

I will get my son digging soon as the weather improves, it won’t be a huge patch but big enough for what we need. We have carrots, cabbage, lettuce, abergines, leeks, onions, sprouts, Runner beans and a few other different types of veg and of course a new organic gardening book.

As it is our first go at vegetables we will be learning  all we can especially at how to keeps the slugs and other pests at bay, hopefully it will prove successful.

Bits and Pieces

Thursday, March 20th, 2008

Happy Easter everyone, this is my first posting in bits and pieces.  It is just bits of information or possibly something nonsensical.

I did start off with business opportunities but I am sure most of you find what you are looking for by surfing the web, so I have decided to change tack and just post what I feel like doing.

I have just had a Kingsmill hotcross bun and it was delicious, I have to give them 10/10.  I expect many of you are off for the weekend, if its in the UK then wrap up warm, you won’t be needing shorts at this time of the year.

They should keep Easter in April we would have more chance of nice weather then and the weekend would be enjoyable, still as long as the rain keeps off it won’t be too bad.

We are almost a quarter of the way through the year, I am going to start buying my Xmas presents in the next week or two. It might sound crazy but it keeps the credit card bills down so no worries after Xmas.

How many of you have given up already on your New Years resolutions I wonder! I played safe and didn’t make any.

Did you know its the Spring equinox today, that means there are equal parts of daytime and night time. It is said to be the official start of spring and the equinox is how christians calculate when Easter is celebrated.

Sell on Auction Sites To Make Money

Wednesday, March 12th, 2008

Ebay auctions has grown to huge proportions over the years but they get greedy and the larger they get the more money they want to rake in. Once again there have been fee increases which means power sellers and shop owners on ebay have seen their profits go down again.

Once upon a time the small seller could put an item on for 99p and if didn’t go up but just sold for that price you could still make a bit of profit out of it, but now it is simply a waste of time. The listing fee is 25p then they take the final value fee, and if the customer pays by paypal that is another 25p. your profit is merely pence and not worth your while especially when you have to package the item and waste your time going to the Post office.

But all is not lost because ebid Auctions are now coming into their own. This auction site is free to the small seller there are no listing fees and the final value fee on sales is only 3%.   If your item doesn’t sell you are not out of pocket.

If you are a business person and make your living from auctioning goods then for a limited time ebid Auctions have this offer. Pay one flat lifetime fee of $49.99 and you pay NO LISTING FEES and NO FINAL VALUE FEES!

Ebid online Auctions cover the US, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Italy, India, Germany, France - and an increasing array of nations worldwide. It is free to join ebid auctions and  it already boasts 6000 categories and half a million auctions with NO listing fees.

You can now start your own free business by selling unwanted items or with dropshipping.

A good Spring seller on the auctions or car boots is young plants, flowers or vegetables. Start a market garden in your spare bedroom or invest in a plastic greenhouse they are cheap to buy.

A few packets of seeds, small plant pots and compost and you ready to get started. Get a book on gardening or read online the vast amount of information given, learn how to extract the seeds and keep them for the following year thus saving money.

Sell E-books on ebid Auctions you can write your own or go to www.surefirewealth .com where you can get a large array of free e-books many with resell rights, You could call it free money when they sell.

Another good seller on the auctions is old postcards or pictures, visit second hand book shops and look for old magazines and books with pictures, to learn how its done, and what to look for this e-book explains all.

If you are artistic and draw or paint pictures, these items are often good sellers on the auctions, what ever your hobby if it is saleable and you want to make money then try e-bid Auction Site at no cost to you.

Appear in Films or On Television

Sunday, March 9th, 2008

Do you have a yearning to appear in films or on television? or maybe you want to join in the game shows or sit in the audience.

Here is your chance, you could be a film or television extra, or you could even be the star of the show.

Producers of TV shows, commercials, movies and photographic shoots often use “ordinary” people to appear in their productions as extras. They like to use “real” people, but also people who have some experience in amateur dramatics.

The great thing about this type of work is that it is usually occasional work and you can always plan for days off at work to coincide with the time span. The pay is good as well extras earn around £70-£100 per day and the photographic work pays £150-£300 a day.

The appeal of this type of work is the thought of appearing with well-known performers in a professional studio environment, and being seen on screen.

Maybe you run your own website and you are looking for new content, if so you can contact them about taking one of their latest shows feeds? It can be as simple as adding 1 line of code to you site and you can have all the details of their latest listings included directly into your site. If you are more technically advanced, you can receive feeds as XML or if you would prefer something easier to integrate, you can just include 1 line of HTML code to bring in their Javascript feed.

For more information on the vast amount of ways you could join in go here http://www.beonscreen.com/uk/user/index.asp

Part of Last Post

Saturday, March 8th, 2008

Sorry I missed a bit out of my last post on Little Acorns. What I didn’t say was to advertise house clearances. You can usually pay as little as £300 to £400 for a houseful of goods and furniture as the relations that inherit just want to get rid of it.

Little Acorns to Great Oak Trees.

Saturday, March 8th, 2008

If your unemployed and desperate to start earning money then this could be your chance to get started in your own business.

They say from little acorns huge oak trees grow, so think about what I am telling you.

What is the easiest way to earn a pound or two?  Ebay of course. So start off by selling a single item from your home, it could be anything from clothing to ornaments, or or some little trinket that’s lying around doing nothing.

I had a tiny alabaster dog on my mantle piece so for a laugh I put it on ebay, it was no bigger than 2″ high, I thought oh well someone might pay 99p for it. I was astounded when it went up to over £5, it was money for next to nothing.

When you have made £2 or £3 go to a jumble sale or a car boot and spend wisely on a few odds and ends, you should be able to double your or treble your money.  When you have done this a good few times and if you are wise you have saved, it you should have a good few pounds in the kitty.

Now for the next part you will need some storage space, a garage or a large shed. You can improvise if that’s not an option at this point, clear out a room in your house by parking the stuff in other rooms for the time being.

The one problem here is you need a van of sorts, although there is a way round it. Until you have made enough money to buy one hire one for half a day at a time.  Keep everything of value to sell on your own website or Ebay, send the larger items to a local auction or advertise them in the free newspapers.

There is always someone looking for what you are selling so take advantage of it. You could soon be running a great business with a new van and one or two employees to do the heavy work.

Do you remember the old rag and bone men that came round the streets! they bought anything and everything, and many of them ended up millionaires.
