Hi everyone welcome to my blog.

 My name is Sylvia White and I live in the West Midlands UK.  I am what used to be called an old aged pensioner but now I have the respectable title of  Senior Citizen.

I am not grumpy like some of the posts I have read on older people, and I do not jump queues at bus stops. In fact in my mind I still feel young and I would love to go to night clubs and do all the things I used to do as a teenager. But we are told we have to act our age and behave like a granny to our grand children.

I have just celebrated my seventieth birthday, not that I wanted to celebrate it, it would have been more preferable to celebrate my thirty or fortieth birthday, as no one wants to grow old, but thats life.

I was fit and healthy untill eighteen months ago when I went on holiday to Turkey. I had only been there four days and it was the first hot sunny day we had so I went to the swimming pool. 

My little grandsons mom and dad went off to buy some pool toys for the children so I was left in charge.  Five minutes later Josh my grandson said he wanted to go to the toilet, I tried to get him to go behind a tree but he wouldn’t have it so we trailed right round the pool and up three steps to the toilets.

On the way down the steps my foot slipped from under me and although I hung tight to the rail my foot crashed down on the concrete.  I spent the next five days in hospital after having broken my leg and dislocating my ankle. I am now the proud owner of a steel plate and eight huge screws that stick out on my leg.

Due to an injury to my back at the same time it took me 12 months to get over it, although I am now one of these walking stick wallys with a wheelchair to go any distance.

Still there are a lot worse off than me so its no use moaning.

My loving husband of 48 years passed away just over six months ago, it was the saddest time of my life, but still I can’t have that many years left before I join him.

I have worked online since 2002 and my website was no 2 on google and always on the first page but due to my problems and not working on it, it has disapeared from view so this blog is my new baby.

I expect by now you are bored stiff with my ramblings so if you have managed to get this far I’ll just say thankyou for visiting my site.
