Fish for Danger
Thursday, September 2nd, 2010If you eat loads of fish then stop right now, it could endanger your health. Especially pregnant women. This is not something thought up by all the claims that the scientist come up with but a real life fact.
Although fish is full of nutrients and protein it also harbours more dangerous substances such as mercury a dangerous toxin. The larger the fish the more mercury it contains.
Tuna fish is bought daily by millions of people, especially tinned tuna, and this is one of the most harmful fish, this fish and the larger ones are more at risk to humans because they have lived a longer life and have eaten thousands of smaller fish.
Pregnant women especially should limit the amount of fish they eat as the murcury toxins can destroy the brain development of the new baby.
Fresh and tinned salmon is the lowest in mercury but fresh farmed salmon may contain PCB’s, these are chemicals with serious long term health effects. (more…)
