Holiday Mayhem as Airports Close Again

Friday, August 13th, 2010

Oh dear they are at it again!  Airport staff voted to strike and of course its the August bank holidays affected. Every year its the same so you it makes you wonder if its worth booking holidays at peak times if it means flying.

Why put up with all the mayhem of cancelled, or cut short holidays because airport staff are feelng disgruntled with their lot.

Crying and miserable kids who often can’t understand why their holiday is postponed, and that wonderful chance of getting away from it all leave Mom and Dad miserable as their much needed holiday is cut short.

Why put up with it year after year because yes, it does happen every year.  Whats wrong with good old Britain? How many of you can say that you have visited every part of this country. Why do you go abroad, or why do you want to go abroad?

Of course you want the sunshine, and thats something you can’t guarrantee in good old Britain, mind you my last two holidays abroad had their fair share of rain and cold winds. Even the Canary Islands where sunshine is almost a cert was cold with high winds at times.

Our late night drinks on the balcony never came to fruition it was to cold to sit out.

Why not rediscover the British Isles! There are some beautiful places in this country, beaches for the kids, countryside, dales and mountains, lakes and small islands, what ever you are looking for we have it.

After all you are used to carrying an umbrella around with you so thats no hardship. We do get the sunshine now and again, and no one can say its been cold these last few months. Lets bolster up Britains economy and start a new regime of holidays at home in our own country.

No long waits at airports worrying if your luggage is overweight, no air flights where the kids get bored. Just bundle into the car and set off, you can stop when and where you want, and you don’t have to worry about your luggage, or the kids favourite toys you can take them all.

And please don’t say its cheaper to go abroad because costs have soared in EU countries and its no different to home. But the weather you say!!  Well we don’t have earthquakes or volcano’s, and if it rains thats easy! Just put your bikini or swimming costume on and pretend you’ve just got out of the swimming pool. Well its a thought!

After all you are used to the British weather and if you can live with it I am sure you can holiday in it.  No funny tummies either.

Fee to Enter U.S.A for Travellers.

Wednesday, August 11th, 2010

Well heres a bit of news to get started.  If you are lucky enough to be traveling to the U.S.A. in the near future, then be prepared.

From next month everyone, U.K. included will have to pay £9 each to enter.  This charge is supposed to promote U.S. tourism. If you are considering a trip to the US in the near future then apply online  now and it will be free. You have untill the 7th September to apply after that you will pay the charge.

The authorisation lasts for 2 years so get moving and save a few pounds.

It seems they are following in the wake of Turkey who charge ten pounds each to enter the country, and it must be in our own currency.

So come on Britain get into the swing of things and start a similar scheme for incoming travellers, after all they get far more benefits here like free medical treatment if they need it.    We are one soft country.
