Where is Technology Leading To
Technology, where and what is it all leading to? When I was a young girl television was the new baby, I can remember the excitement when we had our first television. I was seventeen years old and we had the television in time to watch the coronation of Queen Elizabeth in 1953.
The house was crowded as we were the first family to own a TV in the surrounding streets and every one wanted to watch the coronation. A washing machine was the next purchase, it was a single tub with a small mangle above, but mom was over the moon with it.
Since that time to the present era technology has grown out of all proportion, no longer the childish games of our generation we are on a roller coaster and our kids must have the latest that technology has thrown at us.
Cost does’nt come into it, parents think nothing of spending the odd one or two hundred pounds to keep their child happy especially if their friends already have the latest DS or what ever they are called.
Dad must have the latest Iphone and an order is in for better and latest model as soon as arrives on the shop shelves probably just a few months later.
Where is it all leading to, and what is the next mind blowing piece of technology that will hit the shops, or even alter everyones lives?
I just wish I could be here twenty years from now just to see what progress brings but thats not very likely. Still I think I have lived through the best years and they are not likely to come again. I am one of the lucky ones, I remember what it was like to live in a peaceful community before drugs ruined millions of lifes.
They are now an essential part of living and dying as we all know, but what have they done to world in general through misuse.
